Three engines are available to provide motivation.
- 3.6-liter V-6: The standard engine produces 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. When properly equipped, the base engine enables a max tow rating of 7,620 pounds.
- 5.7-liter V-8: The second engine boosts output to 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. It comes standard on Laramie, Longhorn, and Limited, and is available on supporting trims. When properly equipped, a V-8 Ram 1500 can tow up to 12,570 pounds.
- 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6: Available as an option on all trims, the EcoDiesel V-6 improves both power and efficiency. Generating 260 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque, in enables a max tow rating of 12,560 pounds and achieves an EPA-estimated 32 mpg on the highway.
RAM 2500 & 3500 Heavy Duty
Fully redesigned, Ram Heavy Duty trucks boast an outstanding blend of prodigious power, executive style, and luxurious accommodations. Ram Heavy Duty trucks are available in regular cab, crew cab, and Mega cab configurations. The regular cab comes with an 8-foot bed, and the Mega cab comes with a 6-foot-4-inch bed. The crew cab offers both bed options. Both the RAM 2500 and 3500 offer five primary trims - Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Longhorn, Limited - and the RAM 2500 also offers the off-road-focused Power Wagon trim.

- H.O. 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel I-6: Exclusive to the RAM 3500, the high-output turbodiesel engine generates 400 horsepower and 1,000 pound-feet of torque. It enables a max tow rating of 35,100 pounds when properly equipped.
